Botanical Garden, Organic Farm and Nature Walk
Tierra de la Luna was founded with the aim of protecting the rainforest, as most of the property is covered in jungle. Over time, the idea arose to cultivate food organically and regeneratively, inspiring other local producers to grow in harmony with nature. The farm was developed in collaboration with a group of local women agroecologists and provides full-time employment for four local residents.

A Living Farm in the Heart of Osa
Surrounded by tropical rainforest, Tierra de la Luna is more than an organic farm—it is a living example of how people and nature can grow together.
During your visit, you will explore three trails that wind through the farm and surrounding forest, where you can observe a remarkable diversity of birds, wildlife, native trees, and tropical plants. Every walk offers the opportunity to slow down, look closely, and discover the many connections that make this ecosystem so alive.
Our farm is a regenerative and organic food production system that brings together ancestral knowledge and contemporary approaches to tropical agriculture. Here, traditional practices are not simply remembered—they are kept alive and adapted to create a more diverse, productive, and respectful relationship with the land.
The farm is also an extraordinary botanical collection, home to more than 100 species of tropical fruits and over 80 species of medicinal plants, as well as grains, nuts, tubers, vegetables, and many other useful plants.
Native vegetation grows throughout the farm, creating habitat and food for wildlife and forming a natural bridge between the cultivated areas and the surrounding rainforest. As you walk, you begin to see the farm not as something separate from the forest, but as part of a larger living landscape.
Come walk, observe, taste, and learn—and discover how regenerative agriculture can become a way of protecting both food traditions and the living nature of Osa.
