All about Sloth Tour

A year ago, some of the grandchildren of Nai Quirós had the idea of making a pathway in the remaining forest of the farm to motivate their grandmother to walk, without knowing that the place was home to several sloths known by our elders as Pericas Ligeras.

La Perica Bird Garden offers a didactic, educational, and family activity that takes place on this 10-hectares farm located in La Palma. You will learn everything about the natural history of these incredible animals and spend a pleasant time full of stories with the Valverde family.

They’ve made a great effort to reforest the area since all the surrounding properties are now destined for cattle farming. They protect very special trees, some of them being more than 100 years old!

To finish the tour and honor the environment, you will plant a native tree from grandpa Toño’s nursery, helping increase the territory of these sloths and other fauna, and then celebrate with some sugarcane juice extracted by yourself in our traditional way!
