The name "Trillo de la Danta" comes from the constant tapir use of wide trails for a long time. Its heavy body has created natural paths in between the forest, Michael and Gustavo use these trails with minimum impact on the environment.
You will be picked up by a minibus from Drake to Los Planes. On the way, you can enjoy the sighting of incredible birds such as kites, turquoise cotingas, toucans, and mammals too.
Once at the property, you will walk through its wonderful garden and learn from medicinal plants. After a short tour, the walk begins through the primary forest, with the aim of hopefully finding a tapir in its natural habitat among other incredible species of animals.
Later, you will have the opportunity to take a bath in an emerald green river, that runs through the property. A pure connection with nature at its best.
You can choose to start the hike in the morning at 6:20 AM or in the afternoon at 2:30 PM.
