Straight to the heart! “Palmito” is a nutritious food obtained from various species of palm trees. This tour will delight you with several of the products that can be obtained from these beautiful palm trees, all in an artisanal way.
Three wonderful women have put their hope and faith in creating the only heart of palm tour in southern Costa Rica. Jacana Rey is a family project led by one of our main guides in the area, Eida Fletes. She is also a mushroom specialist and an excellent cook.
You will learn about the history of the heart of palm and the extraction process, then the tour ends with an exquisite variety of dishes, all made with the palm grown on their farm.
This farm is located in La Palma, 24 km from Puerto Jiménez.
