Second day: Head towards Sirena from La Tarde, passing by the Los Patos Ranger Station, and after a 30 km hike, spend the night in this remote biological station.

Third day: Prepare to explore the exuberant beach for 20 km on this coastal trail that you won't forget!  Reach the La Leona Ranger Station and head toward Carate, a gold-digging town, where you can enjoy refreshing cold coconut water.

Completing 60 km in 3 days while encountering hundreds of species of animals, that’s a good dose of Corcovado!

This tour starts in Puerto Jimenez and ends in Puerto Jimenez.

Although, you can choose to exit towards Drake on the last day to lower the intensity of the tour. In that case have in mind that, you might need the luggage transfer service between PJ and Drake. We don't recommend doing any Corcovado hike with more than 6 kilograms on your back. Policies apply for the luggage transfer, you can read them here: Luggage Transfer Policies.

We also offer a taxi service from Drake Bay to Puerto Jiménez or vice versa in case you need to move between these towns.

If you're coming in a rented car, and you plan to exit on the other side of the Peninsula after your tour, we can help you move it from Drake to PJ or vice-versa. Ask about our car relocation service. Policies apply, you can read them here: Car Relocation Policies.

La Tarde Ecotouristic Project & Sirena Biological Station

The La Tarde Ecotouristic Project, located in the northern mountains of Corcovado, is a rural tourism initiative that borders the national park and an excellent place for watching birds, reptiles, and amphibians. Here you will spend the first night, in a simple and beautiful cabin. With a stunning view of the forest, the accommodations include a towel, soap, sheets, and shared bathrooms.

Experience an authentic immersion in the heart of Corcovado National Park by spending a night at the Sirena Biological Station. The station is located just a short walk (800 m) from the pristine shores.

Accommodation is in shared, rustic dormitories featuring roofed wooden platforms with bunk beds. While basic and offering limited privacy, the comfortable beds are equipped with sheets, a pillow, and a mosquito net.

You'll have access to nice and clean shared bathrooms and showers (please note there is no hot water). Meals are served in the communal, open-air dining room, where you can enjoy typical Costa Rican cuisine and connect with other travelers.

There is also a souvenir shop where you can buy cold drinks, coffee, and snacks. Lockers are available to store personal belongings for $4 per day, and you may also rent towels for $5.
