All about Jaguars of Osa

Enjoy a privileged moment with Tico’s Wild Studio team! This project began in 2014 and has been growing ever since. It has an artistic, scientific, and social dimension. The vision is to document each of the last jaguars of the Osa Peninsula and follow their tracks through time. This allows to improve the knowledge of the species at a local level and thus optimize its protection.

During this activity, you will learn more about this endangered species, present in the Osa Peninsula! Very few guides in the Osa Peninsula have seen a jaguar in their lives, to give you an idea of how difficult it is to observe this wild cat!

They will present to you their jaguar work and results through a talk animated by covering various topics such as the history of their project, the state of the population of the jaguars of Osa, the threats faced by this species, and the difficulty of carrying out such work. The most exciting moment will certainly be when they will show you exceptional images taken with camera traps!

This activity offers the opportunity to approach in a certain way this species so difficult to see, and discover unique content!

Things to bring: water (optional), donations to the local library, and association Ascona (only if interested).
